Young at Heart Project

Led in collaboration with Dorset Polish Centre, Young at Heart provides support to the elderly Polish community and their families and carers residing locally.

Led in collaboration with Dorset Polish Centre, Young at Heart provides support to the elderly Polish community and their families and carers residing locally.

Young at Heart is a programme that focuses on supporting our local elderly Polish community - who are often isolated due to health, language barriers, and financial challenges.

Since 2019, Young at Heart has held in-person support sessions, as well as coffee afternoons, yoga classes, craft workshops, group outings, events and more. Sessions aim to reduce health inequality, improve accessibility to services and public spaces, and improve people’s feeling of safety by reducing isolation (mainly due to language barriers) and fears of antisocial behaviour.
