Who are you and what is your brand?
My name is Jethro and I believe you can draw. I create illustrations with my iPad that encourage and inspire. My school children's workshops teach kids how to draw anything from their imagination, starting from a simple coloured spot- and if you can learn how to draw, you can learn anything! I also create resources such as procreate brushes, character sticker kits, and drawing templates to help others with their creativity.
Why did you do the Start Up Programme?
I was looking to turn my illustration into a business, but I didn’t really know what I was doing or how to start. I also wanted to work in a place that wasn’t a desk in my room! I often felt lost (and sometimes still do), but the Start Up Programme gave me a direction and provided questions to ask myself to help me get back on track when I’m not sure what to do next.
What did you gain?
The training and mentorship was invaluable. The practical resources helped me immediately make changes to my business to help me grow. But perhaps even more valuable was the connection with other local creatives. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation - and I now have connections with wonderful people who I can encourage and who can encourage me!

This programme is perfect for a local creative looking to grow their business. Not sure where to start? Looking for community? This is the perfect place for you! Be bold, step out, there’s a whole group of people also looking for community and they're ready for you to be a part of it!
