TOSH Creative Start Up Programme: Meet Graduate Becca Parker

"I wanted in on the secret sauce!" Hear thoughts from our Creative Start Up Programme grad, Becca Parker.

We thought we'd share some words from one of our thriving Start Up graduates - Becca Parker - of bright and beautiful, planet-friendly accessories brand: To Be Adorned.

Who are you and what is your brand?

I'm Becca, a designer-maker in Bournemouth. With my small business To Be Adorned, I create handmade eco accessories for colour lovers, and knit and crochet patterns for makers. I also host craft events and workshops locally to share the joy of handmade.

Why did you do the Start Up Programme?

I'd recently taken the leap to self employment, juggling freelance work with my business stuff, and was keen to find some direction and guidance on how to move forwards. Other creative biz folk who'd done the course were absolutely smashing it and I wanted in on the secret sauce!

What did you gain?

The great teaching and peer group support helped me find focus and recognise the potential of my business. I had dedicated time to sense check ideas, refocus on my target audience and look at the bigger picture.

To whom would you recommend the programme?

I'd recommend the course to anyone running a creative business solo who's unsure of their next steps or even how to get started! It was a real business confidence boost for me and got me motivated to push things forward.
