TOSH Creative Start Up Programme: Meet Course Leader Joanne Griffin

"You have the answers inside of you to make your business a success, but sometimes you need accountability, support or extra help to bring them out." Read all about our wonderful new Creative Start Up Programme Co-Host, Joanne Griffin

Who are you?
Hey, my name is Joanne Griffin and I am so excited to be co-hosting TOSH's Creative Start-Up Programme for 2024 alongside Sammy Murphy.

My business is The Creative Flow Collective and I offer 1:1 and group retail mentoring and workshops for creative product-based brands to create strong business foundations by sharing my retail knowledge to grow your sales, develop your products, plan ahead and master your mindset.

Combining over 16 years of working in retail & e-commerce. My career background includes graduating with a BA Hons in Surface Pattern Design at Staffordshire University, and working in various SME retail businesses- including 7.5 years at notonthehighstreet.com where I specialised in merchandising, product development and writing trend guides for the 5,000 sellers.

I have been living in Boscombe for the past three years and I love life by the sea. Outside of work, you'll find me salsa dancing, running, practising yoga or baking.

Why do you want to lead the Start Up Programme?
My passion is working with creative businesses, 1:1 or in a group setting, it is my favourite thing to do! I feel you develop so much more when you connect with someone and have the opportunity to ask questions. Much more so than just an online course where there is no interaction.

Giving you confidence through my business knowledge is key as I want you to take action to grow your sales and feel good while doing so. Plus I love to create a supportive, welcoming and inspiring place to create a sense of belonging, so you don’t feel alone. Running a business can be lonely! You have the answers inside of you to make your business a success, but sometimes you need accountability, support or extra help to bring them out.

That's exactly what we will be here to do in the Creative Start-Up Programme. I really admire TOSH for what they do to support businesses in the local area and am honoured to have been asked to support this Start-Up round.

What experience do you think you'll be using during the course?

I've worked with businesses in the start-up, growing or scaling phase. And whether you’ve got an idea or a bit further along, I aim to fast-track your growth through:

  • Creating strong business foundations from pricing, business plan, brand positioning & USPs, knowing your ideal customer, marketing, business analysis and planning ahead.
  • Incorporate mindset shifts & support so you have the accountability to increase your confidence, work through problems and feel good while running your business.

My clients describe working with me as "a best friend who happens to know everything about running a small business" - so I can't wait to work with you too!

What are you most excited about?
Meeting all the amazing attendees who take part in this brilliant course. I love working with creative businesses 1:1 and in a group setting and I can't wait to meet everyone who takes part. Investing in your business in a programme like this can feel a bit scary. But by investing it means you commit to take your business to the next level and grow your knowledge and sales.

I can't wait for our sessions - sharing knowledge, getting you to take action in the sessions so you can see the development start, and watching the bonds that get made between us all.

If you're ready to grow, then take the next step and apply. Sammy and I can't wait to be your tutors!
