About Modern Contemporary Art Gallery

Modern Contemporary Art is a UK-based online gallery and art advisory founded in 2021 by Jackie Sarafopoulos. The platform is dedicated to the sourcing, presentation, and sale of modern and contemporary artworks, with a particular emphasis on works on paper.

Its carefully curated collection spans a diverse range of media, including lithographs, screenprints, etchings, linocuts, monoprints, and woodcuts, alongside drawings, watercolours, and a select group of original paintings and sculpture. The gallery works closely with artist estates, established galleries, collectors, and charitable trusts, fostering relationships built on transparency, ethical practice, and rigorous scholarship.

By bridging historical and contemporary practices, Modern Contemporary Art showcases works by a wide range of artists — from 19th- and 20th-century masters to significant figures in post-war and modern British art.

Beyond sales, the gallery offers personalised advisory services to private collectors, institutions, and corporate clients. These include collection management, acquisition strategy, provenance research, and guidance on authentication, conservation, and framing. It also supports new collectors, providing advice on building cohesive and meaningful collections over time.

While primarily operating online, the gallery maintains an active presence at public exhibitions, art fairs, and print-focused events across the UK, including the Hepworth Wakefield Print Fair. Through this hybrid model, Modern Contemporary Art aims to make high-quality, collectible works more accessible to a wider audience, combining traditional connoisseurship with a modern, digital-first approach.
