Event description

Curious about the world of framing? Join us for this discussion based session where we’ll explore the art of framing - designed for artists who feel overwhelmed by framing choices, and who are keen to make thoughtful, intentional decisions that complement their artwork and its environment.

Choosing the Right Frame for Your Medium: What colours, materials, and thicknesses work best for your artwork? Should you use mounts, and what about glass or glazing? How high should you hang your artwork? And when is unconventional framing the right choice?

Framing for Different Spaces: How do you decide what frame works best for where your artwork will hang - whether in a home gallery, office space, or exhibition?

Scaling and Series : How can you frame multiple pieces or create a cohesive gallery wall that feels intentional and well-balanced? Learn how to frame multiple works to create visual harmony in a series, ensuring that each piece shines without overshadowing the others.

Value and Pricing Your Frame: How much should you spend on framing? Can a well-chosen frame actually increase the value of your artwork? We'll help you understand the value of investing in the right frame - discussing how thoughtful framing can elevate your pieces, enhance their presentation, and potentially increase their market price.

Troubleshooting: If you’ve ever wondered how to stop a frame from overpowering your art or distracting from it - this session is for you!

(Please note that we will cover framing guidance and education in this session - we will not be practically framing any artwork during the session.)
