Curious about how to grow your creative practice using video or social media? Join us for our new monthly Ask An Artist sessions, part of our OSC (Open School Creative) programme. This session is open to all career artists and creatives, wherever you’re at.
This month, we’re joined by Milly Withers of Blink Lettering – a local creative who has built a thriving business through calligraphy, teaching, and engaging video content.
Over a coffee, Milly will share her experiences, answering questions, and discussing topics such as:
- Showcasing your work and your personal 'brand' online
- Capturing video content & building confidence in front of the camera
- Making social media work for you

About the Artist
Milly, founder of Blink Lettering, is a calligrapher and stationery content creator based in Bournemouth. She has built her Instagram to an audience of over 86,000, and worked with high-profile art brands, such as Pentel and Winsor & Newton, to create eye-catching social media videos.
Milly also became a published author in 2024, with the release of her book Colourful Modern Calligraphy. As well as writing, she also captured over 150 photos for her book using her iPhone in her simple home studio setup.
About OSC
Open School Creative is a collaboration between BEAF Arts Co and TOSH (The Old School House) to support our community of artists and their artistic development at all stages of their career. OSC events and workshops are for artists interested in collaboration, skills development, community and networking.
Getting to us at TOSH
If you are coming by foot or by bus, take the M2 bus and get off near Boscanova if coming from Southbourne, or the stop after Aldi if coming from Poole and Bournemouth. If you are coming by car we would recommend parking in the sovereign centre car park.
Pokesdown for Boscombe train station is a 15-20 minute walk to TOSH, along Christchurch Road.
